I was a military brat growing up, so we moved around a bit during the early parts of my childhood. My dad eventually retired in Florida when I was in grade school, so I consider myself a Floridian. After high school I attended the University of Florida (Go Gators!) where I completed my Bachelor of Science followed by medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. I accepted an Air Force medical scholarship and moved to Dayton, Ohio for my pediatric residency at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. After completing residency I was stationed at Shaw AFB in Sumter South Carolina where I served as a general pediatrician for four years. That brings us to now where I am excited to be a part of the SouthernMED Pediatrics family.
I live in Columbia with my wife and our three boys. We have two cats with dreams of adding a dog, some chickens, a pig (if my wife gets her way), and bees (if I get mine) to the menagerie. I am an enthusiastic, if not particularly skilled, home cook and mixologist and can usually be found singing and dancing, albeit poorly, in our family's kitchen. All of our family trips and activities tend to revolve around food and I am always looking for delicious and unique food ideas or adventures. Fortunately (for my heart and arteries), I also really enjoy running which allows me to not feel too bad about all the eating. When not cooking, eating, thinking about food, or running to burn off recently consumed food, I love relaxing with my family and playing with my kids.
